History of the Gods

Post by World of Aserra » Mon Aug 04, 2008 9:14 pm

The Gods of Adun are highly evolved beings, and one single family. The Father, Orran'sulani, and Mother, Nydoini, came to Adun with only the company of their dragons, Asharisan and Umossa. Adun legends tell that they created the universe, but the truth is, they could be compared to a young married couple moving into their first home together. At first, Orran'sulani and Nydoini only populated the world with birds and beasts and fishes—so the mythos tell—and then they bore their children. They bore seven children, and to each, they gave dominion of an element of the world. Zelan, the first born, was given power over the Air. Next came Maris, who was given the waters of Adun. Third, Brecha, who would govern the soil and rock. Fourth, Alaezo, who would control the flame. Fifth, Entra was given all that lived. And finally, the twins; Idraen the light, and Ispa the dark.

Likewise, the dragons Asharisan and Umossa bore young. Umossa laid one clutch of seven eggs after the seven children were born to the gods. Once hatched, the young dragons bonded with these children and were aligned with the same element they represented. Zelan was given the silver dragon Vorkas, Maris was given the sea serpent Asimeth, Brecha was given the wyrm Urobolus, Alaezo was given the mighty fire dragon Kezho, Entra given the gentle green dragon Sh'Laife, Idraen was given the white dragon Nyusha, and Ispa the black dragon Alaas'th.

In their youth, the seven gods were given the chance to create their own races to carry out their will. Zelan created the Zaedyn, Maris the Mariel, Brecha the Brech'mar, Alaezo the Asath, Entra the Nafod, Idraen the Idayn, and Ispa the Danaij. Humans and other races would eventually fall under the domain of the seven elemental gods and their children.

The seven siblings were all they had for partners, and so, they began to bear children together. The genetic structure of the gods is far more complex than humans, so inbreeding doesn't have the same detrimental effects for them. However, inbreeding does reduce the spiritual power of succeeding generations. First came the Goddesses of the Seasons, all the daughters of Zelan; Zelan and Maris bore Fria, who became Goddess of the Winter. With Entra, Zelan fathered Areria, Goddess of Spring. Zelan and Brecha together bore Glaeria, Goddess of Autumn, and Oleiria, Goddess of Summer. There were also darker deities born to Ispa. The youngest female of the seven children of the Mother and Father was malicious and corrupt, leading her siblings to despise her. By tricking all three of her brothers into impregnating her, she born two daughters and a son. Zelan unwilling fathered Craseth, who became the God of War. Alaezo fathered Sai'ras, Goddess of Chaos, and Idraen fathered Yoma, Goddess of the Dead. In blatant response to this, her older siblings bore yet more children. Idraen and Brecha bore Acoassa, Goddess of Order and Balance to stand opposite Sai'ras. Saeven was born to Idraen and Entra, he was God of Peace to stand opposite to Craseth. Yoma already had an opposite in Entra however. This would not be the end, more gods would come from unions with demons, humans, elemental races, and other beings.

The Father and Mother - First Generation Gods
The first generation is only two; Orran'sulani and Nydoini, who legend says brought life to Adun and birthed the seven elemental gods. Both were killed in the War of the Gods.

Orran'sulani – The Father wiki entry
Pronounced: OR-rahn'SU-lahn-ee
Often known simply as The Father, Orran'sulani is the highest figure in Adun's pantheon. Not only did he father the first seven gods, he is also credited for bringing life to Adun, along with his wife, Nydoini. Orran'sulani was the first causality of the War of the Gods, slain by his youngest daughter, Ispa, in a grasp for power. Ispa not only killed him, but she consumed his soul, thereby gaining his memories and power. He is not worshipped however, since he is dead, but his son, Idraen, took his place as the king of the gods. Orran'sulani is still highly honored in Adun. His dragon was Asharisan.

Orran'sulani was a tall, lean man who carried himself with the composure suiting his position. He had long platinum blonde hair that flowed to the ground, flawless pale skin, and pale blue eyes. His ears were long and tapered. A handsome man, bordering on beautiful. His back was graced by six white wings. Orran'sulani dressed in long silk robes, reminiscent of Japanese garb, often in cool colors.

Nydoini – The Mother
Pronounced: NYE-doy-nee
The Mother of Adun, Nydoini, was Orran'sulani's wife, and second only to her husband in the pantheon. She was represented as a loving maternal figure, viewed as the perfect mother...despite one bad egg, Ispa. Her husband was slain by Ispa in the War of the Gods, and in her grief, she sacrificed herself to Ispa's twin brother, Idraen, whom she chose to succeed Orran'sulani. Reluctantly, Idraen absorbed his mother's soul and gained her power to fight Ispa. Her dragon is Umossa.

Nydoini was a stark contrast to her husband. Where as he was tall and thin, she was somewhat shorter with a voluptuous hourglass figure. Where he was pale, she had a lustrous mane of black curls, red skin, and dark eyes. She was just as beautiful as he, however. Instead of six wings, Nydoini had four, plumed in red with white tips. Her style of clothing was similar to her husbands, but in warm colors.

Seven Elemental Gods - The Second Generation
These seven gods are the children of Orran'sulani and Nydoini. They created the first races, and are all accompanied by a patron dragon, like their parents. All seven of them rule over an entire plane, though Idraen inherited the throne of Adun's heaven.

Zelan – God of Air
Pronounced: ZEE-lahn
The first born of the gods, Zelan was aligned with the element of Air. His dominion is over the plane of Air, Sylph, and the Zaedyn. He once shared responsibility for the weather with his sister Maris, but this duty was passed to their daughter Draia. Despite being first born, he had little concern with inheriting his father's place and fully supported his younger brother Idraen. Zelan is content with his place in the world, and is rather free spirited like any air elemental should be. He is a collector of knowledge, a lover before a fighter, yet he did participate in the war against his sister Ispa.

Zelan is accompanied by the silver dragon Vorkas.

Zelan has fathered the four elemental goddesses with his sisters Maris, Entra, and Brecha; Fria (Winter), Areria (Spring), Glaeria (Summer), and Oleiria (Autumn). Tricked by Ispa, he was subdued and raped to father Sai'ras, the Goddess of Chaos; a daughter whom he detests. He also fathered Draia with Maris, and she took over their duties for the weather of Adun.

Zelan has his father's pale straight hair, though of a silvery-blue hue, and blue eyes. His skin is bronzed, and he has the long tapered ears of his father. Four white wings are upon his back.

Maris – Goddess of Water
Pronounced: MAHR-iss
Second born from Orran'sulani and Nydoini, Maris is aligned with the element of Water. Her dominion is over the plane of water, the oceans, Undine, and the Mariel. She and her brother Zelan once shared responsibility for the weather, but this was passed to their daughter Draia. Like a Water elemental, Maris generally has a calm and peaceful demeanor, but when provoked, her rage is feared even more than Ispa's. Zelan and Maris have a close relationship, and both share in a love of knowledge. She is not as free spirited as her brother, though. She is strongly opposed to Ispa, and dealt a major blow to her youngest sister in the war, and helped protect the world from the devastation caused by the sinking of Ageond.

Maris is accompanied by the sea serpent Asimeth.

Maris is mother to the Goddess of Winter, Fria, and the Goddess of Weather, Draia, both fathered by Zelan.

She has long, wavy blue hair, deep green eyes, and golden tanned skin. Her ears are shorter than Orran'sulani's, but still long and tapered. On her back are six wings that shift through shades of blue in reaction to her emotional state. When at peace, her wings are a placid, soothing shade of blue, but when enraged, her wings take on the deep, dark blue of a stormy sea.

Brecha – Goddess of Earth
Pronounced: BREK-ah
Third born to Orran'sulani and Nydoini, Brecha is aligned with the element of Earth. Her dominion is over the plane of Earth, the land, Gnome, and the Brech'mar. Strong in every sense of the word, Brecha is not a goddess to cross. She is ever loyal to her beloved parents, and strongly opposed to Ispa. Once, Ispa tried to prey on Brecha's love for her family by swaying her to the side of darkness, but Brecha would not betray the entire family for the happiness of one. In the end, Brecha was the one who decimated Ispa's mortal forces by sinking the continent of Ageond.

Brecha is accompanied by the wyrm Urobolus.

Brecha is mother to the Goddess of Summer and Autumn, Glaeria and Oleiria, fathered by Zelan. With Idraen, she bore Acoassa, Goddess of Order and Balance.

Brecha is shorter than her other siblings, with her mother's voluptuous hourglass figure, accented with toned muscles. She is earthy in appearance, with thick, wavy brown hair that she often wears back, brown eyes, and bronzed skin. Her ears are small and only pointed, more like her mother's. Brecha is often decked out in armor. She has two golden wings, but they are markedly smaller than her siblings'.

Alaezo – God of Fire
Pronounced: ah-LAE-zho
Fourth born to Orran'sulani and Nydoini, Alaezo is aligned with the element of Fire. His dominion is over the plane of Fire, the flame itself, Salamander, and the Asath. He is a passionate man, both in love and battle. Unlike Zelan and Idraen, when their sister Ispa sought to bear children, she outright seduced Alaezo. She expected him of all her siblings to follow her in her bid for power, but she underestimated his affection for Orran'sulani. When she killed their father, Alaezo was turned against her forever.

Alaezo is accompanied by the fire dragon Kezho.

Alaezo is father to Craseth, God of War, with Ispa, and Erada, Goddess of Love, with Entra.

Alaezo is a handsome, strong man with dark, warm features. He has straight black hair, golden eyes, and bronzed skin. His ears are half the length of his father's. Four wings are upon his back, plumed in shades of red, orange, and yellow.

Entra – Goddess of Life
Pronounced: en-TRAH
Fifth born to Orran'sulani and Nydoini, Entra is aligned with the element of Life. Her dominion is over the Maze of Dreams, fae, and the Nafod races. A gentle and compassionate woman, Entra opposed the war, even when all diplomacy had failed. Instead, she remained neutral and insisted that her worshippers do the same.

Entra is accompanied by the green dragon Sh'Laife.

Entra is mother to Areria, Goddess of Spring, with Zelan; Saeven, God of Peace, with Idraen; and Erada, Goddess of Love, with Alaezo.

A petite, delicate woman. Entra is fair skinned with green eyes and long, silken blond hair. She has Orran'sulani's long ears and four light green wings.

Idraen – God of Light and King of the Gods
Pronounced: ih-DRAYN
Twin brother to Ispa, the final two children born to Orran'sulani and Nydoini, Idraen is aligned with the element of Light. After his father's death, Idraen was chosen to succeed him, and as such, his domain has expanded from the Light Elementals and Idayn to the King of the Gods. A noble and virtuous man, however he is officially considered a vampire. After his sister consumed their father's soul, Nydoini could not live without her husband and sacrificed herself so that Idraen could gain enough power to combat his sister.

Idraen is accompanied by the white dragon Nyusha.

Idraen is the unwilling father of Yoma, Goddess of Death, after his sister Ispa subdued and raped him. He also fathered Saeven, the God of Peace, with Entra.

Idraen is the striking image of Orran'sulani, almost identical in most superficial features. He, however, was born with only four wings, but after absorbing his mother, he gained six to match his father—and Ispa. He has a preference for dressing in only white, with silver or gold accents.

Ispa – Goddess of Darkness
Pronounced: ISP-ah
Twin sister to Idraen, the final two children born to Orran'sulani and Nydoini, Ispa is aligned with the element of Darkness. Her dominion is over the element of darkness, the Seven Infernal Chambers of Malbolge, dark spirits, and the Danaij. The worship of her and her children is the only acceptable religion in what is left of Ageond; the Forsaken Land.

Always an outcast, Ispa had a desire for greater power. She spend thousands of years, biding her time. First, she conceived children and raised them to conform to her will to bolster her claim, as well as summoning demons, then she built her mortal forces. To kick off her bid to take over Zephaer, she killed her father and absorbed his soul and power. She waged war against her siblings on the physical plane of Adun, using armies led by Danaij and filled with monsters and humans. Her siblings fought back, and eventually won. Brecha decimated her mortal forces by sinking most of the continent of Ageond, which Ispa's forces conquered early in the war. Ispa faced off against Idraen, and was gravely wounded. He nearly absorbed her soul, but Ispa managed to escape, severely weakened both spiritually and physically.

Ispa is accompanied by the black dragon Alaas'th.

She conceived her first three children by tricking her brothers into impregnating her. First, she bore Craseth, God of War, with Alaezo by seducing him. After Craseth, she subdued and raped her brothers Zelan and Idraen, who were less receptive to her seduction, and conceived Sai'ras, Goddess of Chaos, and Yoma, Goddess of Death. She has other children, including Suldra, Goddess of Lust, who was fathered by the demon lord Airuxul.

Ispa is a petite woman with long, straight black hair, pale skin, and red eyes. Her ears are small and pointed. She is quite slim, but with some curves. Originally she had four black wings, like her brother Idraen, but gained a second pair after absorbing Orran'sulani. She dresses in black and dark colors, often with silver accents.

Third Generation Gods
These Gods are mostly the children of the seven elemental gods. They are less powerful than the previous generations, but still hold sway over the peoples of Adun. These gods generally do not have a patron dragon.

Seasonal Goddesses
These four sisters are the daughters of Zelan, born to Maris, Entra, and Brecha. They rule over the seasons of Adun, and are mainly worshiped in the temperate regions where seasonal changes are most obvious.

Fria - Goddess of Winter
Pronounced: FREE-ah
Daughter to Zelan and Maris, Fria is the Goddess of Winter. She rules over the season of winter and the sub-element of ice and cold. A race of Idayn came to follow her, the Aeul'Idayn, or Winter Elves.

Fria has snow white skin with pale blue hair and eyes. She has a tall, willowy frame and long, tapered ears. She has only a single pair of white wings. Fria dresses in elaborate white gowns, often accented with diamonds and crystals.

Areria - Goddess of Spring
Pronounced: ah-RER-ee-ah
Daughter of Zelan and Entra, Areria is the Goddess of Spring. She rules over the season of spring and has a close relationship to her mother, both personally and in the pantheon. At the end of winter, most Adunians in temperate regions pray to her to beg for an early and abundant spring.

Areria has fair skin, though not nearly as pale as Fria's. Her hair is a pale blonde, grown long and woven with flowers. Areria's eyes are a vibrant green, and she has long, tapered ears. Two pale green wings are upon her back. She has a preference for flowing, earthy gowns in neutral colors, accented by flowers and vines for adornment.

Glaeria - Goddess of Summer
Pronounced: GLAY-ree-ah
Daughter of Zelan and Brecha, Glaeria is the Goddess of Summer. She rules over the summer months and is prayed to for mild summers. She and Oleiria were twins.

Glaeria has golden-tan skin, auburn hair, and blue eyes. Her ears are of a medium length between Zelan and Brecha's, and she has a pair of golden wings on her back. Her hair is often up in simple, but glamorous styles, and she dresses in warm colored, light gowns.

Oleiria - Goddess of Autumn
Pronounced: Oh-LEY-ree-ah
Daughter of Zelan and Brecha, Oleiria is the Goddess of Autumn. She rules over the season of fall, and is often prayed to in hopes of a good harvest. She and Glaeria were twins.

Oleiria has fair skin, brown hair, and orange eyes. Her ears are of a medium length between Zelan and Brecha's, and her back is graced with a pair of golden wings. Oleiria's hair is worn long and adorned with autumn leaves. She is often represented in a modest gown carrying a basket of fruit.

Draia – Goddess of Weather
Pronounced: DRY-ah
Daughter of Zelan and Maris, Draia took over their shared role of ruling the weather of Adun. She oversees the weather patterns and commands Sylph and Undine spirits when it applies to weather. Draia is prayed to in order to beg for pleasant weather. She has a greater following than the seasonal goddesses in the more consistent climates of the equatorial regions of Adun.

Draia is tall and lean with minimal curves. Her hair is wavy and blue, much like Maris', her skin is a fair tone, and she has gray eyes. Two wings grace her back that shift between blue-gray and dark blue like her mother's. Draia dresses in long, clinging gowns.

Craseth – God of War
Pronounced: CRAY-seth
Son of Alaezo and Ispa, Craseth is the God of War. Aggressive and war mongering describes Craseth almost entirely. He rules under his mother, and is usually prayed to by only those who follow the gods of darkness, but especially the Danaij'vai who are his devoted followers. His values pertain to tactics, warrior prowess, and mercilessness.

Craseth is a tall, broad shouldered and well-muscled man decked out in full plate black armor with red and gold accents. His hair is black, short and swept back, his skin bronzed, and his eyes red. His ears are merely pointed, and he has a pair of black plumed wings on his back.

Saeven – God of Peace
Pronounced – SAY-vehn
Son of Idraen and Entra, Saeven is the God of Peace and direct opposite of Craseth. A god who opposes war, but realizes that there are times when it must be fought; especially when he was given an adversary like Craseth. Saeven teaches diplomacy before battle, and when war must be fought, it must be done so honorably. Humans are the main followers of Saeven, and those who serve him directly are paladins and monks.

Saeven is tall, leaner than Craseth, but not exactly a slim man. His skin is fair, his hair white, and his eyes gray. His ears are pointed, and slightly elongated. Upon his back is a pair of white wings.

Sai'ras – Goddess of Chaos
Pronounced: SY RAHS
Daughter of Zelan and Ispa, Sai'ras is the Goddess of Chaos. She serves under her mother, and is one of Ispa's most beloved children. Somewhat mad, Sai'ras prefers her followers the same. Sai'ras is known for being temperamental and unpredictable.

Sai'ras is almost a mirror image of her mother, black hair, red eyes, and pale skin. She is petite as well with long ears. The only thing that sets her apart is her single pair of black wings.

Acoassa – Goddess of Order
Pronounced: AH-kohs-SAH
Daughter of Idraen and Brecha, Acoassa was brought up to oppose Sai'ras as the Goddess of Order. Acoassa symbolizes balance, but her teachings are some of the most corruptible. Followers of Acoassa have been accused of zeal that controls every aspect of the lives of those who follow her. There are some communities and nations that heavily restrict what it's people can or cannot do it the name of maintaining order. In these communities, people suffering from mental instability are often considered touched by Sai'ras and are treated as criminals; tried and executed.

There are other communities that worship her more as intended, and she is highly regarded as a god of justice. Priestesses of Acoassa oversee criminal trials across Adun and judge without bias.

Acoassa is a woman of a sturdy build with an hourglass figure. Her hair is brown, her skin fair, and her eyes orange. Her back is graced with a pair of golden wings with white tips. Often represented as a scale, statues of Acoassa commonly represent her with her arms spread wide and a chain wrapped around her arms, across her shoulders, while she grips the ends in her hands, dangling a pair of scales.

Yoma – Goddess of Death
Pronounced: yo-MAH
Daughter of Ispa and Idraen, she was the goddess in charge of the souls of the dead. Her touch brings death to mortals, and her mother intended for her to serve her in slaughtering the followers of her enemies. With Ispa's guidance, Yoma created the vampires; a race of undead that retained conscious thought and nearly resembled the living, but fed on the lifeforce and blood of mortals. In the higher planes,

Yoma is also served by Soul Reapers. These beings are black shades that wander the ethereal plane, tending to the lost souls when they find them. They are horrifying to behold, appearing as a black cloaked figure with skeletal hands clutching scythes from beneath their cloaks to those who are aware of spirits.

However, Yoma drifted away from darkness and sought neutrality instead. Killing for her mother's ideals never sat right with her, and Yoma instead became a goddess who merely took care of the souls of the dead, guiding them from the Aether to the afterlife if they became lost. Despite her dark beginnings, Yoma gained a respect from the light loving people of Adun, and is often prayed to for guidance when someone is near death, or after the death of a family member.

Yoma is a tall, willowy woman, beautiful, yet always sad and distant. Her hair is a pale, lifeless green, and her skin pale and ashen. The only sign of life is her brilliant green eyes. Yoma's ears are pointed, and a pair of gray wings are on her back. Her wings were once black, but after her change in views, they paled to gray.

Suldra – Goddess of Lust
Pronounced: sul-DRUH
Daughter of Ispa and the demon lord Airuxul, Suldra is the Goddess of Lust. She is the counterpoint to Erdra, Goddess of Love. Inheriting both her parents' sexual appetites, Suldra is insatiable, however, she is barren. She is beautiful and seductive, but cruel and sadistic as well. Her greatest followers are amongst the Danaij, who incorporate her into their religion following Ispa. They embrace the sexual deviancy she represents and hold her in high regard. Prostitutes across Adun also regard her as their patron goddess, but they try to separate their worship of her from darkness, only begging of her to give them a blessing so that they may fulfill their duties to their clients.

Suldra is a curvaceous and beautiful woman with long, black, wavy locks, tanned skin, and green eyes. Her ears are pointed, and her demonic heritage shows in a pair of small horns on her brow and the bat-like wings on her back. Suldra dresses in revealing, elaborate clothing.

Erada – Goddess of Love
Pronounced: e-RAH-dah
Daughter of Idraen and Entra, Erada is the Goddess of Love. Her focus is on romance, with a secondary aspect of fertility. Erada teaches to hope for love in any form between two (or more) consenting adults. She supports monogamy, polyamoury, heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, and pansexuality. Whereas Suldra encourages sexuality for the pure carnal pleasure, Erada teaches moderation, and that before there is sex, there must first be love and respect. Her teachings do not insist on chastity before marriage, but only discretion in sexual activity.

Priestesses who follow Erada are granted the ability for healing those they care about and are taught to find the best virtues in everyone, and love them for it. One of their most unique abilities is to heal through sexual contact. This is rarely preformed, but often sought. It can only be granted by a willing priestess.

Erada is an incredibly beautiful woman with luxurious golden blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. She always has a sense of optimism and almost innocence about her. On her back is a pair of white wings, and her ears are medium in length. Her garb is a modest robe, similar to what her priestesses wear.

(A few more gods, as suggested by yazzor--except the fates.)

Belas – God of Corruption
Pronounced: BEHL-ahs
Son of Ispa and demon lord Aitirava, Belas is the God of Corruption. Belas is a devious and seductive god, weaving division and dissent in Ispa's name. He will use every power at his disposal to turn the good and righteous to darkness. Belas meddles in the affairs of gods and powerful men alike, and often assists his brother Craseth in igniting wars.

Incredibly beautiful, Belas is tall, lean, and almost androgynous, though his face has a more defined masculine form. He is known to have a charming smile and striking golden eyes. His hair is black, but due to his father's heritage, he bears some traits of the raven like demons of Greed, such as feathers growing out from his temples that meld into his long, silken black locks. He also is known for having long, talon like fingers with sharp, pointed nails. His ears are pointed, and he has a pair of black plumed wings on his back.

Casril - God of Luck
Pronounced: cas-RIHL
Son of Erada and Chepol, a member of the Vulpes clan of Nafod, Casril is a demi-god and the God of Luck. He is neutral and a rogue amongst the gods. He has no real place in Zephaer, and is often regarded as a pest to the higher gods. However, he has quite a great following amongst the humans where he is worshipped most strongly in commerce-heavy cities. There are temples to him where merchants come to pray for good fortune in business dealings. He is also highly regarded by thieves and rogues who would steal from the very same merchants; a cycle he finds most amusing.

Casril has roguish good looks, and sharp features reminiscent of a fox. His hair is red and often disheveled. He has gold eyes and tanned skin. His ears are mid-length and he has a pair of small red wings.

Juxus – God of Mischief and Lies
Pronounced JOOKZ-us
Born of a brief fling between Sai’ras, Goddess of Chaos, and Casril, God of Luck Fortune, Juxus is a neutral god, walking a thin line between Light and Darkness. He revels in causing mischief like meddling in relationships, playing pranks on mortals and gods alike, the occasional theft, and taking prayers far too literally. Even so, a few people pray to him for his blessing in their own mischief, and for their own lies to be successful. No temples or shrines are dedicated to Juxus, he is one of the lesser gods that are called on when needed. He also has no place in Zephaer because of his mischief, nor does he care to live with his mother in Malbolge, instead he is a transient entity, floating from plane to plane. Occasionally, he makes a home in the Maze of Dreams with the fae.

Juxus has the roguish good looks of his father, with shaggy black hair that covers his mismatched red and gold eyes (the right being gold and the left being red). His skin has a light tan shade, his ears are long and tapered, and he bears a pair of ashy gray wings on his back, reflecting his neutrality.

Niariss and Uvesa – Fates
Pronounced: NAI-riss, oo-VEHS-ah
These two sisters were once mortal Idayn oracles who served at the pleasure of Idraen. Thousands of years ago, not long after the creation of the elemental races, the two were ascended near the end of their lives as a gift for a lifetime of dedication. After their ascension, they were given control of the Threads of Fate to guide the new mortal races.

Niariss and Uvesa appear quite similar and uniform to Idayn features. They are beautiful and slim, with long platinum blonde hair, fair skin, and blue eyes. Their ears, are of course, long and tapered. Both have white plumed wings. Their facial features are somewhat different, and Niariss is noted as the slightly more beautiful of the sisters.

Luma – Guardian of Dreams
Pronounced: LOO-mah
Luma was born of an affair between her mother Entra, and an elf in the Maze of Dreams. She was raised by her mother amongst the Fae, and is a somewhat obscure goddess as she has little obvious involvement with the rest of the divine royal family. There are no temples founded to her, but she is known in a few cultures which hold dreams of high importance, and is prayed to on occasion. Luma is responsible for protecting the dreams of mortals, which can be accessed through her mother’s realm. Beneath her, she commands a varied ‘knighthood’ of fae who are responsible for protecting the portals to dreams.

Luma is a petite woman of breathtaking beauty, but is remarked to be very innocent, almost child-like in her facial features and behaviour. She inherited the pale features of both her parents, having long platinum blonde hair, fair skin, and pale green eyes. Her ears are tapered and of a moderate length compared to some of her other family members. She is considered to stand only around five-foot two or three inches tall with a rather delicate body, except for an especially ample bosom. She has four wings on her back, plumed in iridescent white. She usually dresses in light colored robes like her mother.

Inspired by Mana Apparatus's suggestion of a "God of Whimsy".

Essan - God of Knowledge
Pronounced: EHS-saahn
One of the younger gods, though still of the third generation, Essan is the son of Zelan and Entra. His intellectual nature, quick mind, and creativity earned him the place of God of Knowledge. Essan began as a muse of sorts, but as the human population grew, so did the need for muses. Beneath him, he fathered twelve daughters, each responsible for a different area of interest.

Essan is an handsome man who reminds many of his father, both in looks and airy nature. His hair is long and silver, his skin fair, and his eyes a deep shade of green. He has rather short tapered ears, about a third of the length of both his parents', and his back is graced with a pair of silvery plumed wings. Essan dresses in light, flowing robes.

Muses
Muses are lesser gods who inspire creativity in mortals. The twelve main muses are all the daughters of Essan, but beneath them they have recruited many other muses from ascended humans, angels, and some of their own children. These lesser muses are not generally mentioned in the whole of the world's mythology, but they are sometimes mentioned in personal accounts of experiences with them.

Serys - Muse of Literature

Sixth born daughter of Essan, her mother was a mortal; an Idayn woman by the name of Yerena. Serys rules over the art of writing, namely creative works. Serys looks much like her Idayn mother, tall and lean with long, straight blonde hair, green eyes, and fair skin. She also has the long, tapered ears of an Idayn and is represented often cradling a book or two in her arms.
Ibana - Muse of Spellcraft

Orran'sulani [To be revised]

Post by World of Aserra » Tue Jul 20, 2010 7:44 pm

Orran’sulani
Orran’sulani (pronounced OR-rahn SU-lahn-ee) is considered to be the Father of Adun, as well as the father of Adun’s pantheon. The world’s mythos tell that he and his wife, Nydoini, arrived on the planet when it was empty and lifeless and together, they brought the world to life.

Worship
Orran’sulani is not worshiped in Adun, and never really has been. Many early humans worshiped Nydoini, and the elemental races all worshiped the god who created them. After Orran’sulani’s death, Idraen succeeded him as the king of Zephaer.

Appearance
Orran’sulani was a tall, lean man who carried himself with the graceful composure suiting his position. Six white wings graced his back, a sign of his immense divine power. He was handsome, bordering on beautiful with flawless pale skin, pale blue eyes, and long, straight, platinum blonde hair that flowed to the ground. His long, tapered ears were inherited by many of his children, a trait that was added to the elemental races. For all his regality, he was often a person in good humor, remarked for his kindness and warm smile.

Orran’sulani’s garb was reminiscent of the clothing styles of many Asiatic cultures, consisting of long robes with open sleeves and adorned with sashes. His preference toward colors were white and pale shades of blue, green, or gold.

History
Orran’sulani and his wife Nydoini wed before their arrival on Adun. When they found the planet, the myths say that it was lifeless, and after their arrival, the two gods quickly set forth in making the world livable and creating flora and fauna.

They did not come alone to Adun. With them came a pair of dragons, Asharisan and Umossa; Asharisan being bonded to to Orran’sulani and Umossa to Nydoini. On their heels came various spirits, including the elemental spirits were necessary for moderating the world’s environments, and fae. They also created the angels to serve them, and demons found their way to Adun.

Orran’sulani is most notably charged with separating the higher planes, whereas Nydoini is responsible for much of Adun’s lifeforms. It was shortly after their arrival on the planet when he created first Zephaer, the City of the Gods, for he and his wife, and other aligned peoples, to reside in, then he created the four elemental planes for the elemental spirits, the Maze of Dreams for the fae, and finally, Malbolge for the demons, dark spirits, and other lower plane entities that had found their way to their world in order to keep them detained.

After bringing Adun to life, they focused on creating their own family. Each child would have a purpose, and so they were each aligned with one of the seven elements. Nydoini decided these elements while she was pregnant. First born was their son Zelan who was aligned with the Air element. Shortly after his birth came their first daughter, Maris, who was aligned with the Water element. After Maris came their second daughter, Brecha, who was aligned with the Earth element. Following Brecha came Alaezo, the second son who was aligned with the Fire element. Next came Entra, the third daughter, aligned with the element of Life. Finally came the twins Idraen and Ispa who were aligned with the elements of Light and Darkness respectively. Considering the duality in the nature of light and darkness, it was only fitting that they were born into the world together. Idraen, the third son, was also remarkably alike to Orran’sulani, who was also aligned to the element of Light.

After Orran’sulani and Nydoini finished their family, Asharisan and Umossa chose to provide each of the gods’ children with a dragon companion as well, in the form of their own offspring. The two dragons mated and Umossa laid a clutch of seven eggs, one for each of the young gods, and one for each of the elements. These dragons were Vorkas for Zelan, Asimeth for Maris, Urobolus for Brecha, Kezho for Alaezo, Sh’Laife for Entra, Nyusha for Idraen, and Alaas’th for Ispa.

When the children came of age, they were introduced to their realms, and they took command of the spirits that inhabited them. It was also decided that they would each have an opportunity to create a race to serve them in the material world. Nydoini took basic humanoid forms and the seven gods were allowed to shape them as they saw fit. They would be incarnated with the souls of elemental spirits to ensure their loyalty to their god. These races were the Zaedyn, Mariel, Brech’mar, Asath, Nafod, Idayn, and Danaij. The races were populated across the world, starting in small niches and in some cases, spread outward from there.

Orran’sulani only lived long enough to see a few of his grandchildren born. The first of the third generation born while their grandfather lived were the four Seasonal Goddesses, all fathered by Zelan, and born to Maris, Entra, and Brecha, who conceived around the same time. Ispa had been snubbed by her brother in this endeavor, which was one of many acts that would lead to the fracturing of the family and a war that would consume the world. Maris bore Fria, the Goddess of Winter, while Entra bore Areria, Goddess of Spring, and finally Brecha bore twin daughters, Glaeria, Goddess of Summer and Oleiria, Goddess of Autumn.

After being left childless while her sisters all welcomed these four daughters made Ispa bitter, and after a lifetime of standing apart from her siblings due to her darker nature, the Goddess of Darkness decided to take child bearing into her own hands. Ispa first seduced Alaezo, the brother who respected her the most and conceived Craeseth, who would become the God of War. Shortly after his birth, she tricked Zelan into thinking she had forgiven him for rejecting her, and was able to convince him to give her a child, Sai’ras, the Goddess of Chaos. After her birth, she then approached Idraen and seduced him with much effort, resulting in the birth of Yoma, the Goddess of Death. Ispa kept her children at a distance from the rest of her family in Malbolge, keeping their influence from changing the direction her children were intended for. As such, Orran’sulani had little contact with these grandchildren before his death. Over the course of the next few years, Ispa also bore two more children, both fathered by demon lords—Suldra, Goddess of Lust, and Belas, God of Corruption.

Ispa’s goals couldn’t be hidden forever as her children reached adulthood and their actions grew harder to hide. Concerned as to why Ispa was keeping her children apart from the family, Orran’sulani sought answers and soon realized that his daughter was raising an army against them. Disappointed, Orran’sulani went to his youngest daughter to give her an opportunity to return to the family, along with her children, to maintain the peace, but Ispa betrayed him, killing him and consuming his soul. As a result, Ispa gained his immense spiritual power in addition to her own, as well as his memories and knowledge. This power would be put to use in pitting her offspring against her siblings, and sending the races of Ageond to war against the other races, a war fought on two fronts known as the War of the Gods.

Additional god thanks to little knight's suggestion.
World of Adun wrote:Juxus – God of Mischief and Lies

New goddess added.
World of Adun wrote:Luma – Guardian of Dreams
