Rules of Development
  1. Keep in mind that this world may be published in one way or another. I encourage you not to integrate any concepts of a story or RPG world that you are creating and intend to publish independent of Aserra.
  2. Any ideas you use must be original, as if I publish this game, I would not like to get slapped with copyright infringement suit for a rip-off I didn't catch.
  3. Do not model any nations or cultures entirely after existing nations and cultures in the real world. You may use aspects of any existing cultures, though, and it would be best to mix things up too.
  4. There is a need to be reasonable with cultures, abilities, and the like that are created for Aserra. I don't want nations that are the epitome of perfection, or an entirely unreasonable set of abilities that causes them to be sensationally over powered compared to others of their race.
  5. I must give approval for anything major created by other players, so until I tell you that I'm ok with that, don't automatically assume that it'll be canon.

Iengi
(Pronounced; ee-EHN-gii. Grammatically, they should be referred to as Iengi in the singular, plural, and collective.)
An off-shoot race of humanity, the Iengi are size taken to extremes. They are rare and elusive, lacking the intelligence of their cousins. Location and Abodes
The Iengi live in the mountainous regions of the northern hemisphere, both on Thiskel and Kalesten, ranging as far south as the northern ranges bordering Thiskel’s Great Desert. They prefer cool environments and favor high altitudes. They are common throughout the Ideil Mountains of Thiskel (and others yet undefined), with a few individuals scattered in the Kaius, Gayntos, and Perdraser Mountains of Kalesten.

Iengi do not build their own homes, and instead find homes in caves within the mountains, crevasses, and in high altitude old-growth forests. They may do some maintenance on their place of residence, such as bracing walls and ceilings with tree trunks and boulders or fashioning a roof of tree bark or other materials.

Appearance and Garb
The Iengi are two to three times the size of an average human, standing at a range of ten to 20 feet (3 to 6.10m) tall, but on average stand between twelve and fifteen feet (3.6 to 4.6m). Their build is usually broad and lean, occasionally with a small amount of fat, especially for females and males in more northern regions. Short of their height they appear human, though their features are wider and more primal. They also have the same rounded ears as humans do. Hair color is commonly black or brown, rarely red or blond, and eye color is usually a shade of brown from golden to black-brown. They are light skinned, though it ranges from ivory white to tanned.

The Iengi have a primitive style of dress, wearing leathers and skins. In warmer months they may wear little more than a loin cloth, but in winter they wear cloaks of furs and leathers, lashed and tied together as they usually lack sewing skills. They favor bear pelts, supplemented with deer skins and coats from other large grazing herbivores when they can catch them.

Lifespans and Reproduction
Long-lived and slow to reproduce, the Iengi are a dying race as more intelligent, resourceful, and fast-breeding humans encroach on them. They Iengi live for around two to three hundred years and they can conceive monthly like humans, but their opportunities to mate are growing fewer and far in between. Most females tend to have three children throughout their lives.

They tend to be antisocial, even with their own kind, but there are instances of Iengi grouping together in small familial clans under a matriarch or patriarch. Same-sex individuals sometimes group together, especially mothers and daughters, but males and females don’t often like to stay together for long. Grouping tends to happen more in regions where their range has been diminished by other more gregarious races.

When it comes to reproduction, males are constantly searching for females, and when they find a receptive partner, they will begin a courtship for the male to prove that he is an ideal sire for her children. Once she accepts him, they will remain together through much of the pregnancy and early years of the child’s life, but once the child is self-sufficient, the father usually departs, often after being harried to exhaustion by his ‘wife’. As such an independent people, both partners tend to try to control their mate which leads to frustration on both their behalves until one or both finally decide they can no longer tolerate each other. Though, if one of the partners is submissive to the other they may find common ground for a longer lasting relationship.

It is possible for Iengi to reproduce with other races, but it is rare and rarely consensual. Smaller males who can’t find a mate may turn his attentions to human women, which can often end in rape, and pregnancy. Larger males, on the other hand, realize that a human woman is too small to copulate with and will ignore them. A smaller Iengi female may accept a human male as a partner, but this is far rarer.

Diet, Agriculture, and Hunting
The Iengi are entirely hunter-gatherers. They are omnivorous, predominantly carnivores though. The hunt for large game animals, and even other predators such as bear, cougars, and wolves. They often hunt by attempting to stalk potential prey, or hide in wait before springing on an animal and either bludgeoning or suffocating it to death. Predators can be baited by leaving carcasses from other kills out. They also gather fruits, nuts, tubers, and roughage from forests.

The Iengi prefer to cook their meat, but their cooking is quite simple; skinning, gutting, spitting, and then cooking an animal over a fire are enough for Iengi.

Religion
The Iengi have little use for religion, and little understanding of the gods and spirits. They tend to live in the present, looking out for themselves and their own interests with little thought as to what lies beyond.

Magic and Abilities
The Iengi have no understanding of magic, even shamanism, and their only skill lies in their brute force.

Personality
They are dull and primal, solitary and at times aggressive. Sometimes they seem less than human, yet they do have their moments when they can seem perfectly human.

Relations
Iengi have little contact with other races, but often times they are considered dangerous from antics of the worst individuals.

Play-Ability
Iengi are playable, but should be exceptionally rare as they tend to keep to themselves and have a bad reputation amongst humans. They would need incentive or extenuating circumstances to leave the comforts of their home territory.
