Re: Magic: Sorcery
wooo..the history! okay here is a question for jess, if a character can 'seperate' the illusions and the magic (as in sorcery) cast by others...what ability does that belong to? or the ability to find a specific item(non magical msotly) or another person (if not protected by strong magic)

Re: Magic: Sorcery
Maybe the gods can help a sorcerer without him/her realising it!! to manipulate situations, at least to use them for something they deem sorcerers to be useful for but not because they actually like sorcerers!

Re: Magic: Sorcery
Hmm I agree, since sorcery is such a study based with some talent included type of power, it will take a life time of an averge human to even to get close to finding one. You might even need more then average 70 years of a human life span to make a new one. That is my thought..

Re: Magic: Sorcery
No I don't think Mana should be something addictive, if it was that addictive bloody hell...every one who eats plants and animals would be addictied. Sorcerers far as I know take on other potential sorcerers if they have the talent to learn the arcane language, which bends the mana to their will. Ma...

Re: Magic: Sorcery
It's up to Jess to say what we can do, but I can't imagine humans at young age having enough time to learn powerful spells. It should take years to learn them and master them. Even if Aramiya's specialty is being a seer, she still isn't powerful enough to stay awake after a prolonged use. She will b...

Re: Magic: Sorcery
Isn't that more of illusionist type spell? Warding, should just be warding not create illusions at the same time. I think for human, it's rarely needed sort but if you were dra'nafod or other races with fae type magic...well its something more they would use to trick humans into beliving that they c...

at least most sorcery questions have been answered... it won't be long before myths and legends of different races start popping up.
Thanks Jess for answering my question and actually have patience about it too..

Re: Kalesten - Belvon
perhaps a shamanist culture? who said technology and shamanism doesn't mix?
And no I mean nothing like our world's shinto religion, but the population just sorta believes in natural spirits in their own minds but don't have a central temple anything nor priests etc.

Re: Magic: Sorcery
Just a total bunch of random questions, if power corrupts...how come elemental race never becomes corrupt?considering their long life use of awsome power of elemental magic? or the gods who uses the power of mana too? I mean gods created the world of adun but are they immune to the forces of power?I...

Re: Kalesten - Agenom
Just few quick suggestions. The most most notable feature of the Agenomians is their skin colour. Their skin colour is mainly from light caramel to light cocoa colour. To have pale skin is considered rare and beautiful as to having blond hair. The most common hair colours are black, brown and red.To...

Re: Magic: Enchantment
Just another quick question, How will non human enchantment work? Like items that was enchanted by say an elemental race, will their principles work different? What are the restrictions and bonuses? Can it be used by human race should they somehow come into owning one?

Discussion for Enchanters
just a few curious questions, I know getting an item enchanted is specialty of a small group of people in Aserra...so does that mean it gets keyed to a specific group, person or even bloodline? can it be broken and re enchanted by another enchanter?

actually instead of guns..what about canons? I know guns are pretty simple in design but how you make it makes all the difference. If the guns were that easy to make, everyone would have guns. How do I know? my job entails that I know how to use particular types of gun and be proficient in it. I thi...

Re: Guns?
Right now I think guns won't be important as far as other skills human race has are not advanced enough yet. In the future it might be accurate enough that you don't need much magic to use it as an effective weapon. Until humans advance more in other skills such as metal smithing for weapons and alc...

Re: Guns?
Though I am not sure of the actual idea of using a gun altogether. I know this world was suppose to be a custom made world but I just detest guns altogether if they can not be an effective weapon in a world where its being created from ground up, well what is the use then? Even though there might be...

Re: Magic: Shamanism
oh...welll in asia we practice or use to practice shamanism as well. It forms part of everyday myth and customs etc. I like this shamanism much better then the ones used in ROLW. I think when you do become one, you dedicate your life to practicing it, there is no time to be dormant.

Preceptionists are those who can alter the perceptions of others via mass influencing hypnosis. This type of psychics usually demonstrate some ability with illusion, misdirection and "magic tricks". Though not all Illusionists are Perceptionists, the latter can "brainwash" people into seeing things...

Re: Magic: Sorcery
Sorry everyone! didn't mean to create a furious debate over the sorcery. My idea was that since human race isn't old...only very few would have mastered the art of sorcery enough to be very powerful. How about this...Sorcerers can have a choice of learning it from a school and do not mind being conf...

Discussion for Psychic Abilities
I was wondering if the way seer abilities was available in EKD is relevent here in Aserra. I will review if it's allowed and change according however mana equivalent is used by human sorcerer, mage etc. If the seer ability became genetic dependent...it may die out eventually over few hundred years. ...

Re: Sorcery
So...is there are schools in Emkal to teach and develop these sorcerers? I had this idea, another one from Masca was that the sorcerers had to help those who can not help them selves no matter what. That was the price they had to pay for using magic. They also had to defend other 'weaker' races agai...

Re: Art by Astrid Starwind
Here is my version of an middle class emkal woman. I got this inspiration from lord of the ring; fellowship of the ring. I thought since this small country is magic focused...I wanted to give that 'fantasy/magical' feel.
