Re: Discussion for Soul Burning
Alright, time to establish a safe limit. Typically around 50% of your soul being burned away, your mind will attempt to preserve what little is left of the soul. When you've breached 30% your body shuts down (coma time), for an undetermined amount of time. Dipping to 20% (after awaking from a coma) ...

Re: Discussion for Soul Burning
The symptoms start off pretty minor- dizzy spells, nosebleeds, headaches. Further degradation of the soul causes fatigue, irritability, as well as the continuation of the previous symptoms. Mortals have a natural "safe limit" where the mind attempts to shut off the ability. When the safe limit has b...

Re: Discussion for Fae Magic
Yeah, that's pretty much what's envisioned for Illusion. However, as a mechanic, if one character's willpower exceeds the illusionists, they have a hard time believing the illusion.

Re: Lycanthropy
They probably shouldn't have hunted those rare silver wolves that were that minor goddess's favorite. I mean, they were warned with myths about the wolves being protected, but I guess no one wanted to listen. Now that they have hunted the silver wolves to extinction, they will become the goddess's s...

Magic: Important Announcement, read or get kicked hard
Magic This an announcement about the knowledge of magic in the world. I would like each potential player to read this through from beginning to end, and I do not apologize for however long this may be. Magic is commonplace in Role-Playing Games. From Dungeons and Dragons, to Cthulhu, from White Wol...

Re: Guns?
Magical wars would leave little to nothing remaining of the countryside. Kinda like swatting a mosquito with a nuke. Makes about as much sense as well.

Re: Guns?
Mecha. When ever someone brings up the gun argument in RPGs and says stuff like "advanced" I go around and say Mecha. Then I bring up OOPArt's. Then we all have fun. Guns are actually pretty simplistic in design, even today's guns. You want to look at complicated machinery? Analog watches, clocks. t...

Re: Magic: Shamanism
1) The effects are different, depending on what spirit is summoned. Yes, if you channel a fire spirit you get a fire attack. That much should be fairly straight forward. There are other spirits besides elemental spirits. Most other spirits, animals and the like, usually choose to move on with their ...

Re: Sorcery
1) It's not a moral judgement thing. Sorcery is the key to making those without the gift of being able to feel and touch the spiritual world able to touch and feel the world. By manipulating mana, the lifeforce of the planet, they are treading on the territory of that which they wish to become- the ...

Re: Ki (or Chi)
Ki, spiritual energy, exists in all things. The nature of this energy is much alike to mana, save for the fact that the depletion of one's ki is not harmful to the environment, unlike the depletion of mana which deprives the environment from needed sustenance. While a majority of ki use must be trai...
